Notice to an employee for disobedience shown to the Manager of bank

The New Bank of India,

July 8, 20 …….

Rajouri Branch,

Memorandum Mr. PL. Anand,

Typist-Clerk

Dear Sir,

This is to inform you that you were absent from your seat for half an hour yesterday and previously you had been warned about shirking your duty during the bank hours. But it appears that the warning had little effect on you. Therefore, you are required to explain why action should not be taken against you keeping in view the inconvenience caused to our various customers yesterday. This step has become unavoidable and absolutely essential.

There have been certain other complaints of rude behaviour with the customers, who have personally reported to me a number of times.

Please submit your explanation within forty eight hours of the receipt of this show cause notice.

Yours truly,

R.L. Kapur

Branch Manager

Subject : Reply to the Show Cause Notice.

Dear Sir,

With reference to your directive as contained in the show cause notice delivered tome yesterday at 1 pm. I am submitting my reply as under

Yesterday, I was absent from my seat only for six minutes, when there was no customer at the seat and I informed my accountant-in-charge before proceeding out of the bank premises for buying medicine as I was a bit unwell. I had noted the previous warning to me and since then I have been sticking to my routine duty, though even prior to that there was no wilful act of gross negligence of disobedience on my part and I may assure you that the need of the above show cause notice arose out of sheer misunderstanding created in your mind. I shall request you to kindly enquire from Shri P.K. Kunju, the Accountant of our branch, who permitted me to go out.

It is therefore requested that the show cause be waived and I may please be permitted to continue my job as before.

Thanking you,

Yours faithfully,

PL. Anand
